Quickie Ultimate Fight Night 4 Picks

Quick picks, sorry no formal writeup.

Stephan Bonnar -189 half unit (to win)
This line is inflated, but Bonnar should win this fight.

212 Jorge Gurgel +117 one unit (risked)
Gurgel is a BJJ black belt who trains Rich Franklin.

201 Anderson Silva -183 three units (to win)
Best bet on the card. Silva is a monster.

206 Luke Cummo +143 half unit (risked)
Cummo is a nut, but he's got a good line here.

Not a terrible night overall. +.555 units.
The Silva money let us freeroll on the rest, but missing the two underdogs (both of whom came pretty close to winning) cost us the opportunity of a nice payday.

Quick breakdown:

203 Stephan Bonnar -189 half unit (to win)
LOSS - .9450 units

Bonnar sucked. That said, Rashaad is by far my least favorit fighter, his lay and pray is absolutely terrible. I think the judge who scored that a draw is my new favorite MMA judge. They really should revise the scoring rules so that a takedown with zero offense behind it scores no points, in which case a draw is a very good score.

212 Jorge Gurgel +117 one unit (risked)
LOSS: -1 unit

We were on the right side of this fight I think, given the 29-28 decision across the board. Gurgel was very impressive, but wasn't aggressive enough early. Both fighters showed some decent potential. We'll see them both again.

201 Anderson Silva -183 three units (to win)
WIN: +3 units

Knew this was the big fight, knew this was a terrible mismatch. Didn't expect it to only take fourty-nine seconds though.

206 Luke Cummo +143 half unit (risked)
LOSS: -.5 unit

Knew this was a low probabilty underdog (thus the half unit wagered only) but Luke came close to winning this fight in the second round, first from strikes and then from a guillotine. Luke nearly had it again via rear naked choke in the third, but couldn't pull the upset.

No comments on the Ultimate Fighter final? Ed Herman was robbed. I would like to know what the judges saw.

Bispring was damn good. I look forward to watching him fight.

Yeah, I don't know what Bonnar was thinking going into that fight, but he looked horrible.
